3 CRUCIAL THINGS COMMERCIAL AGENTS SHOULD BE IN 2024

- Relentless - it's going to be a tough year. The market is hard. There are lots of agents in the market. It's very competitive. Why should anyone use you over someone else? I think there will be plenty of success out there this year for those who are head down grafting. It's not just about early starts and late nights, but it is about being prepared to do what's necessary to achieve goals.

- Honest with valuations - do you really want over priced stock lingering around the market next year? When I was doing agency work I'd rather have a frank conversation with a client at the start of a process, rather than hold lots of over priced stock. Do proper analysis on an opportunity, present it clearly to the client and be prepared for them to not like what you say. But the more detail and explanation you can give your client, the better chance you have of them listening. And be prepared to walk away from an instruction if the numbers don't work!

- Developing a network - Who do I know? What are my relationships? Are they going to phone me first with an opportunity? Or am I bottom of the pile? I don't mean LinkedIn network, I mean proper, bona fide relationships with real people. People who you can have conversations with off the record, people you can trust and people you can have good, long standing relationships.
